HENDERSON, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 Authorities said that two \u201carmed and dangerous\u201d men escaped Wednesday afternoon from the Vance County Detention Center in Henderson.<\/p>

Michael Miles, 33, and LiShawn Knott, 21, escaped around 2 p.m., according to a Vance County Sheriff\u2019s Office news release.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth individuals are considered armed and dangerous,\u201d the news release said. \u201cCitizens are urged not to approach either subject if seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The detention center is located at 516 Breckenridge St., about four blocks north of downtown Henderson.<\/p>\n

Warren County authorities said there was a \u201cbe on the lookout\u201d issued for the pair around 2:30 p.m.<\/p>

Michael \u201cMike Mike\u201d Lewis Miles was arrested on May 1 in a drug raid by Henderson police and the Vance County Sheriff\u2019s Office, deputies said.<\/p>\n

Warrants filed by the sheriff\u2019s office show Knott is charged in connection with a shootout in a parking lot on March 7, along with being in possession of a stolen vehicle and drugs three days later. He is accused of helping organize the shootout and<\/p>\n

According to the warrants, both men are convicted felons. Lewis was convicted in 2017 of conspiring to distribute heroin in federal court and Knott was convicted in 2023 of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in Vance County court.<\/p>\n
