ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 Two convicted felons who escaped from the Vance County Detention Center last week and sparked a multi-agency manhunt are back in custody, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation said on Tuesday.<\/p>

Michael Miles, 33, and LiShawn Knott, 21, were arrested without incident shortly after midnight at a home on Old Farm School Road in Asheville, NCSBI officials said.<\/p>\n

The pair had been on the run since escaping from the detention center in Henderson on June 3.<\/p>\n

Authorities said information developed through a joint investigation involving the Vance County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the FBI and the SBI led investigators to Buncombe County, where the suspects were located and taken into custody.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe SBI would like to thank all the agencies who have worked tirelessly over the past five days to get these two individuals back into custody,\u201d the agency said in a news release.<\/p>

The investigation into the escape and the suspects\u2019 activities while on the run remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

The FBI previously released surveillance video showing Miles and Knott running through a hallway inside the detention center while wearing orange jumpsuits and appearing unrestrained. The sheriff\u2019s office said the two escaped around 2 p.m. on June 3.<\/p>\n

Following the escape, law enforcement agencies offered rewards totaling up to $40,000 for information leading to their capture. Vance County Sheriff Curtis R. Brame previously described the men as \u201carmed and dangerous\u201d and said investigators believed the escape had been planned in advance.<\/p>\n

Court records show Knott faces charges related to a parking lot shootout, as well as allegations involving a stolen vehicle and drugs. Miles faces charges connected to a drug raid. Both men have prior felony convictions.<\/p>
