DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 Seven people were injured \u2014 including a firefighter \u2014 when a massive Durham fire damaged at least 10 apartment units late Sunday morning, officials said.<\/p>

The fire was reported just before 11 a.m. at the University Ridge Apartments at 3611 University Drive, according to the Durham Fire Department.<\/p>\n

About a dozen apartment units were burned in the fire. During the blaze, at least one person jumped from a third-floor window to escape the fire, Durham officials told CBS 17.<\/p>\n

Five people were taken to a nearby hospital for injuries, including a firefighter who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Crews rescued a dog that was trapped in one unit.<\/p>

There were 75 firefighters at the scene to extinguish the blaze, which took about an hour, according to Durham officials.<\/p>\n

The Red Cross has been called to assist with residents whose apartments were destroyed or damaged.<\/p>\n
