RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 Following the Carolina Hurricanes\u2019 second Stanley Cup championship, fans across the Raleigh area and the state are wearing their team\u2019s red and black pride on more than just their sleeves. Some are tattooing it on their skin to celebrate and commemorate the historic win.<\/p>

Between Stanley Cup-inspired tattoos, custom warning flags flying on forearms, and cheerleaders, Hurricanes fans have gone viral for their inked creations, including tattoo artist Lily Vickers, also known as Lily Loolander of Friendship Tattoo in suburban Charlotte.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the Game 2 win, I was just so hyped up, I stayed up all night drawing the flash,\u201d she said. \u201cI posted it online and the next morning, it totally exploded. Now, I\u2019m booked solid with Canes tats for the next while here.<\/p>\n

Lifelong Hurricanes fan and tattoo lover Olivia Spencer said she\u2019s been counting down to the moment of a Stanley Cup win since her father, ESPN analyst John Spencer, introduced her to the team as a child.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was watching the game and the final three second was the most magical moment I think I\u2019ve ever seen on live television,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time they won, I was in New Jersey,\u201d Spencer said. \u201cI was raised here and they won when I moved here for the first time.\u201d<\/p>

On Tuesday, Spencer got a 2026 replica of the Stanley Cup designed by artist Kati Kesler at Apocalypse Girl Tattoo in Cary.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m very excited,\u201d Spencer said. \u201cI was looking at a couple of different Stanley Cup designs online from previous winners in previous years. I just though the Hurricanes needed to be front and center because we haven\u2019t been front and center in so long.\u201d<\/p>\n

The inked fans said it was especially important for them to get their tattoos before the championship parade in downtown Raleigh on Saturday. They said their love for the team has turned their pride and passion into permanent inked art that runs more than skin deep.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m genuinely proud to be a Canes fan,\u201d Spencer said. \u201cIt\u2019s the most electric feeling I\u2019ve ever felt in the city. I\u2019m so proud to be from Raleigh and be part of the community. Why not celebrate one of the most amazing moments of your life with a beautiful piece of artwork, something that will stay with me until the day I\u2019m gone.\u201d<\/p>
