RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 A Canadian muralist is making her return to Raleigh this weekend to join the city in celebrating the Carolina Hurricanes and to put the final touch on one of her works.<\/p>

If you\u2019ve been to Glenwood South, you are likely familiar with the Canes Nation mural on the side of Teets bar. It\u2019s been three years since Carly Jaye painted it.<\/p>\n

While Jaye is a Toronto Maple Leafs fan by birth, she added the Hurricanes to her list of favorite teams after coming to spend the winter in Raleigh a few years ago.\u00a0Her mural is now a staple in this part of town with people often stopping to take photos with it.<\/p>\n

Jaye never got to sign he mural before going back to Canada.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe whipped it up in about a month\u2019s time,\u201d Jaye said. \u201cUnfortunately, we didn\u2019t get to celebrate it before I had to leave. That\u2019s what we\u2019re going to try to do here this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a GoFundMe to get Jaye back in town to see the Stanley Cup parade and to finally get her signature on her mural.<\/p>\n

Raleigh Downtown, a community-run and self-funded social media page acting as city guide highlighting businesses and\u00a0events, is behind it.<\/p>

Thanks to that support, Jaye is getting on a plane and coming to Raleigh on Friday. t\u2019s a full circle moment for her.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust driving to my next mural site here, I literally shed a tear processing it all, because it just means so much to me that after three years, they were so appreciative of what I contributed to this project,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Teets is\u00a0owned by a former Carolina Hurricanes player.<\/p>\n

The current team attracted a massive crowd this after visiting with the Stanley Cup. Jaye will be at Teets after the parade to celebrate with fans and to put her signature on the mural.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear the rhetoric down there is hockey doesn\u2019t belong in the South,\u201d Jaye said. \u201cI totally don\u2019t believe that.\u201d<\/p>\n
