The leftovers from Tropical Storm Arthur will bring the most rain central North Carolina has seen in a long time, but it will also bring the threat of severe weather.\u00a0<\/p>

CBS 17 has issued an Alert Day Friday because of this threat, specifically Friday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The moisture and leftover energy from Tropical Storm Arthur in the Gulf earlier this week will move across Central North Carolina on Friday morning. <\/p>\n

It will bring widespread rain that could total around an inch for some, but it also brings a low risk of severe weather. This could include damaging winds, heavy rain, lightning, and even a low threat of a brief tornado.<\/p>\n

By Friday afternoon, the storms will have moved out, and a weak cold front will move through. This cold front will bring slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity Friday night through Saturday.<\/p>

Father\u2019s Day Sunday will heat right back up with mid-90s expected. This has already been an incredibly hot month with four record high temperatures, including the record high of 99\u00b0 at RDU airport on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

It has been more than three weeks since the Triangle has seen measurable rain.<\/p>\n
