The first half of Monday will be dry, with mostly clear skies and hot conditions. Expect highs to soar into the middle to upper 90s ahead of an approaching cold front.\u00a0<\/p>

As the front nears, there will be a line of showers and storms forming along it. SPC has placed much of the area under a Slight Risk (level 2) for severe weather. For that reason, the CBS 17 Storm Team has issued a weather Alert Day for the afternoon and evening hours.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The primary threat from the line will be damaging winds, with an all-but-zero risk of hail and a tornado. Western portions of the area will see the line arrive as early as 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the evening, with it pushing east in the hours to follow. Any activity will be departing the area by around 9 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Overnight into Tuesday could feature a few lingering showers and storms, but they won\u2019t be severe. The second day of the new work week will still be hot with a high in the lower 90s. Lower 90s stick around through the end of the week before middle to upper 90s make a comeback into the weekend and the final days of June through the start of July, the following Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019ll be a very typical summer-like pattern, with heat, humidity and pop-up storm activity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

FORECAST<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

MONDAY\u00a0<\/strong>will be mostly clear, hot and humid with an approaching cold front. Scattered showers and storms are likely in the late afternoon and the evening as the front moves in. The high will be\u00a095\u00a0<\/strong>with a heat index of\u00a0103.<\/strong>\u00a0Winds will be southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.<\/p>

OVERNIGHT<\/strong>\u00a0will be partly cloudy with a few lingering showers and storms. The low will be\u00a073<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

TUESDAY\u00a0<\/strong>will be partly cloudy and still warm, with a few scattered showers\/storms. The high will be\u00a091.<\/strong>\u00a0Winds will be northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.<\/p>\n
