Extreme heat and humidity are back in the forecast for central North Carolina this week, and it looks like it\u2019s not going anywhere anytime soon. Before the extreme heat, behind Tuesday\u2019s cold front, Wednesday will still be warm with highs in the upper 80s, but the humidity will be lower and a little more manageable. Enjoy the one slightly \u201ccooler\u201d day while we have it, because before long the sweltering conditions return.<\/p>

By Thursday afternoon, highs climb back into the low 90s, but will stay rain-free, while Friday and through the weekend not only will high temperatures reach the mid and upper 90s, the increased humidity will create a few scattered storms during the afternoon. This trend will continue into Monday, but eventually a ridge of high pressure will take over the weather, keeping temperatures hot in the upper 90s, but also making decent rain chances hard to come by. The hot weather (which is more than 8-degrees warmer than average some days) is expected to stick around through the first few days of July, including the Fourth of July holiday weekend.<\/p>\n
