RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 A celebration 20 years in the making has included plenty of stops for hockey\u2019s most coveted trophy, with the Stanley Cup already appearing at multiple different places across central North Carolina.<\/p>

The North Carolina festivities began within hours of the team landing from Las Vegas at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, with Lord Stanley making an appearance at Teets on Glenwood Avenue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe went to the airport when they arrived,\u201d Mike Daigle said. \u201cThen we followed by going to Teets and partying with them all night. It was great, it was a fun 48 hours.\u201d<\/p>\n

That hasn\u2019t been the Cup\u2019s only stop on Glenwood. Players brought the Stanley Cup to The Avenue right after the championship celebration that sent more than 190,000 Hurricanes fans to downtown Raleigh.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnreal,\u201d Oak City Group Chief Administrative Officer Kim O\u2019Sullivan said. \u201cIt was a level of exhilaration that I think everybody in this entire place felt. To actually have the team come out here to the Avenue was just fantastic.\u201d<\/p>

Besides bar hopping, the Stanley Cup has also made stops in North Hills, the North Carolina General Assembly, local golf clubs, and UNC Rex on Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>

Damian McHugh, an ER doctor for the Hurricanes for nearly a decade, got the chance to get up close and personal with the trophy following Game 6 in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust try to bring a bit of joy to some fathers, mothers, kids that were in the hospital, that\u2019s just so thoughtful,\u201d McHugh said. \u201cBut again, it just typifies Rod and Jordan and all the team. It just typifies how much they just blend with the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s indescribable,\u201d he said. \u201cThe sense of community, the sense of achievement, it\u2019s really touching.\u201d<\/p>
