The hottest 4th of July on record is possible Saturday in central North Carolina. <\/p>

In addition to possibly breaking the record of 101\u00b0 (only set back in 2024!), it could also feel like close to 110\u00b0 thanks to higher humidity.<\/p>\n

Heat and humidity are already starting to increase, and you\u2019ll feel it the next few mornings. Thursday morning won\u2019t be terrible, with morning lows around 70, but by Thursday afternoon, highs will climb to nearly 100 degrees, and with the increasing humidity, it will likely feel as hot as 102-104\u00b0. <\/p>\n

The heat continues to increase from there. By Friday, highs will likely easily climb into the triple digits, and we will stay in the triple digits through Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The only good news with high pressure overhead for the 4th of July is that rain chances will be hard to come by. While we desperately need more rain, at least your fireworks shows and cook-outs won\u2019t be rained out. The high-pressure ridge slowly starts to break down early next week, allowing scattered rain chances back into the forecast, and temperatures will fall back to near normal in the low 90s.<\/p>\n
