(WNCN) \u2014 Duke University Health System is requesting approval from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to help finance a new hospital and a new emergency department in Wake County, state officials said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/raleighmovingnews.com\/?p=4848\">Chatham County woman facing nearly 70 felonies after being accused of financially exploiting elderly uncle: Sheriff<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to state officials, Duke Health filed two certificates of need with the NCDHHS.<\/p>\n<p>In one certificate, according to the NCDHSS, Duke Health is seeking approval for a $619.2 million cost overrun to develop of Duke Cary Hospital, an upcoming 40-bed facility in Cary scheduled to be completed in July 2029.<\/p>\n<p>Another certificate seeks approval for the development of Duke Garner Emergency Department, a freestanding emergency department in Garner expected to cost $32.3 million and be completed in December 2027, according to the NCDHHS.<\/p>\n<p>State officials said a public hearing on the request to develop the Garner emergency department is scheduled for Aug. 17 at 10:30 a.m. in conference room L1-01210 at the NCDHHS Headquarters, 1915 Health Services Way in Raleigh.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/raleighmovingnews.com\/?p=4846\">Interpol names suspect in Monaco bombing that reportedly targeted Russia-linked Ukrainian tycoon<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For more information about the Garner emergency department project, contact project analyst Chalice L.
