FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 More than a year and a half after a deadly shooting in Fayetteville, police are still looking for answers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On January 22, 2025, a winter storm was dumping snow and ice on Fayetteville. People were asked to stay inside and off the roads.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fifty-year-old Nathan Kellon was in his house on Patrick Drive with his wife, his mother, and his grandchild.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At 2 a.m., he heard a knock at his door. Kellon was disabled from an accident, so it took him a while to get to the door. When he opened it, a person on his driveway shot him, ran to their truck and drove off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

First responders found Kellon bleeding in the doorway, and his family hiding in a closet upstairs on the phone with 911. Kellon was rushed to the hospital, where he died.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A neighbor\u2019s security camera was triggered by the falling snow. You can see a person in a white Ford F-150 parking up the street and walking directly to Kellon\u2019s house. Three gunshots are heard, then you can see the person drive off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police are still working to identify that suspect, and learn what their motive was. If you know anything, you are asked to call Fayetteville Crimestoppers at 910-483-TIPS.<\/p>\n
