While not everyone will see rain, any storm that develops can quickly produce torrential downpours, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and localized flooding. <\/p>\n

The heat will build through the end of the workweek, with afternoon highs climbing into the mid- to upper 90s. Combined with high dew points, heat index values will approach 105 degrees, which is near the threshold for Heat Advisories. If you\u2019ll be spending time outdoors, be sure to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, and limit strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.<\/p>\n

Rain chances increase this weekend as a cold front approaches the region. Saturday looks to bring the best opportunity for showers and thunderstorms, with more numerous storms developing during the afternoon and evening. This won\u2019t be a steady, all-day rain, but rather widespread summertime thunderstorms that will be capable of producing heavy rainfall in a short amount of time.<\/p>\n

The front will move through on Sunday, bringing one more chance for scattered showers before ushering in a brief break from the heat and humidity. Monday and Tuesday should feature slightly cooler temperatures, lower humidity, and much more comfortable conditions before the typical summer pattern returns later next week.<\/p>\n
