RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 Despite receiving three inches of rain over the last few days, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Falls Lake remains about five feet low.<\/p>

Still, park ranger David Schwartz told CBS 17 that the storms were enough to bring the lake back up about half a foot.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got a little bit of rain from this rainstorm, but we\u2019re still pretty low,\u201d Schwartz said. \u201cWe\u2019re back to June 16th numbers and everything, where the lake was June 16th. But we still need more rain to bring us back more five feet.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Raleigh Water, Falls Lake\u2019s water supply pool remains around 62 percent full and has continued declining each week.<\/p>\n

The continued drought\u00a0comes as Raleigh operates under Stage 1 water restrictions.<\/p>\n

This week, city leaders granted authority to move into Stage 2 restrictions if Falls Lake continues to decline and water conservation goals are not met.<\/p>\n

Stage 2 restrictions would not allow any spray irrigation or sprinkler use. Raleigh Water also recommends limiting the watering of athletic fields to once a week.<\/p>
