RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 Police in Raleigh on Friday announced the second juvenile arrest after nine people were shot during \u201cteen takeovers\u201d on Independence Day weekend.<\/p>\n

The events, which included more than 3,000 teenagers at two areas, happened in the Brier Creek shopping area Saturday night and in Glenwood South early Sunday, according to a Raleigh Police Department news release.<\/p>\n

A Raleigh arrest of a juvenile on Wednesday was in connection with the Glenwood South incident. That juvenile is now facing charges of felony rioting and firing a gun in the city.<\/p>\n

On Friday, officers arrested Justin Brown, 16, who they said was involved in the 3,000-strong \u201cteen takeover\u201d at Brier Creek and gunfire that injured two adult bystanders.<\/p>\n

The incident was reported as a fight just after 10:25 p.m. at the Brier Creek Commons shopping center, according to a previous Raleigh Police Department news release.<\/p>\n

After the teens were removed from a store, a large fight erupted outside, police said.\u00a0\u00a0During that disturbance, gunshots\u00a0were\u00a0fired.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the chaos, two innocent bystanders, both adults, were injured,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n

One bystander was hit by gunfire while the other was injured by flying glass when a bullet shattered a window, police said.<\/p>\n

Brown is facing various charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and firing a gun into an occupied car, police said.<\/p>\n

The bystanders are expected to recover from their injuries, according to police.<\/p>\n
