On Monday, periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, with the greatest coverage during the afternoon and evening. Some locations could pick up over an inch of rain, with locally higher totals where storms repeatedly track over the same areas. This will help chip away at the recent dry conditions, but it may also lead to areas of ponding on roads and localized flooding in poor drainage locations.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will also trend downward thanks to the increased clouds and rainfall. Highs will be cooler into the upper 80s on Sunday and Monday, providing a break from the recent stretch of intense summer heat. As always, any thunderstorm will be capable of producing frequent lightning, torrential downpours, and gusty winds.<\/p>\n

The heat returns in the middle of the week as highs range back into the mid 90s. Rain chances return as upper-level troughing will keep showers and storms part of the forecast later in the week and next weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n
