CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 Local restaurants and chefs are being celebrated for the next week in Clayton as the first-ever Downtown Clayton Restaurant Week is underway.<\/p>\n

The event, organized by the Town of Clayton\u2019s Downtown Development Advisory Board, began Monday and will run for eight days until July 20.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis week is about giving people a reason to try someplace new and fall in love with Downtown Clayton through its food,\u201d said Downtown Development Advisory Board member Paul Auclair. \u201cOur restaurants each bring something different to the table, and Restaurant Week creates a shared moment to celebrate the people, flavors, and experiences that make this district so special. We hope it\u2019s the beginning of a tradition that residents and visitors look forward to year after year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Participating restaurants will have prix fixe menus as well as new offerings and \u201cexclusive experiences,\u201d according to organizers.<\/p>\n
