ROCK HILL, S.C. (WJZY) \u2014 A Rock Hill woman is chasing her dream of becoming a champion bare-knuckle boxer.<\/p>

Taylor Starling trained Monday at Modern Warrior MMA.<\/p>\n

When asked what she\u2019s thinking about when she steps in the ring, Starling answers, \u201cThe hardships of life and how this is my opportunity to go in here and let it all out of my system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Starling says she had a rough upbringing, getting bullied and fighting a lot.<\/p>\n

It pushed her on a path to becoming a professional boxer with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, a combat sport not sanctioned in North Carolina.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can flip a switch and get in the ring and be a killer, but I am the biggest, most sensitive baby in the whole entire world,\u201d Starling said.<\/p>\n

Starling holds a 6-4 record in her six-year career. She\u2019s a flyweight who\u2019s fought for championship belts.<\/p>

Next month, she\u2019s on the card to fight in an event at Fenway Park in Boston.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fight is one step in the direction to getting back to that title shot,\u201d Starling said.<\/p>\n

Starling is also a wife and mother to two sons, ages 8 and 10.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo my kids, I\u2019m Mommy,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not a fighter. I have to give them this speech, \u2018Mom\u2018s coming home after a fight. I might have black eyes, I might not.\u2019 They\u2019re so supportive. They just always want me to be ok.\u201d<\/p>\n

Starling\u2019s been beaten up badly, but somehow, she calls it fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to do this,\u201d she said. \u201cI have the drive, the passion for it and here I am. I made a life out of it.\u201d<\/p>
