(The Hill) \u2014 President Donald Trump teased what he said will be \u201cbig news\u201d during his primetime address set for Thursday, telling reporters the speech will be about voting machines and election integrity among other topics.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will concern that subject, and we\u2019ll have a couple of other things to say also,\u201d Trump said Tuesday, when asked what Americans can expect to hear in the remarks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really big news. It\u2019s really, really big news, and our country has to shape up,\u201d he continued. \u201cWhat we\u2019re going to talk about Thursday, it doesn\u2019t get bigger because without free and fair elections, you don\u2019t have a country.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be discussing other things too, but it\u2019s going to be a very big announcement,\u201d the president added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Reports surfaced on Monday that Trump\u2019s address will center around recently declassified intelligence on investigations into the country\u2019s elections and what the administration is referring to as vulnerabilities in voting machines.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump has repeatedly voiced unfounded claims that there was widespread voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election, which he lost to former President Joe Biden.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He has been renewing his claims of voter fraud ahead of November, most recently in an effort to push Senate Republicans to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act, which would require photo identification and proof of citizenship while registering to vote and when casting a ballot.<\/p>\n

Additionally, last month, the Postmaster General David Steiner confirmed that the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail-in ballots in states that refuse to provide sensitive voter data to the federal government, mirroring a proposed rule from the Trump administration.\u00a0However, a recent Supreme Court decision ruled that states can accept ballots post-Election Day.<\/p>\n
