SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 A Sanford woman is facing eight charges, including possessing fentanyl and meth, after a Saturday morning chase that ended in a Southern Pines crash, injuring a baby and two women, deputies said.<\/p>

Although her license was previously revoked, the 32-year-old suspect was spotted by a deputy Saturday morning \u201cdriving recklessly\u201d in a Chevrolet Impala on Magnolia Drive in Aberdeen, according to a Moore County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrest warrant.<\/p>\n

Authorities also said Kendra N. Snipes was speeding 15 mph over the speed limit when the deputy tried to pull her over.<\/p>\n

Instead of stopping, Snipes, who had a woman in the car with her, fled north on U.S. 1, deputies said.<\/p>\n

About one mile after she was spotted, the Southern Pines Police Department confirmed a three-car crash along U.S. 1 at Saunders Boulevard late Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

The woman passenger in the Chevrolet was trapped during the crash, which happened around 11 a.m. The passenger was later freed but airlifted to a trauma center, the Sandhills Sentinel<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

During the wreck, a 12-month-old child and a woman in an SUV were injured when their vehicle was hit, the publication reported. They were both taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.<\/p>

Snipes was also taken to a hospital but was jailed later Saturday afternoon, according to the Moore County Detention Center and the Sandhills Sentinel<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Deputies said that after the wreck Snipes was found with fentanyl and meth. An arrest warrant said Snipes was driving \u201cheedlessly in willful and wanton disregard of the rights and safety of others.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, deputies said that she provided a fake name to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

After her arrest, Snipes was also charged with shoplifting and misdemeanor conspiracy following an April 13 incident in Cumberland County, Moore County Detention Center records indicated.<\/p>\n
