{"id":6931,"date":"2026-07-24T13:08:53","date_gmt":"2026-07-24T13:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/raleighmovingnews.com\/?p=6931"},"modified":"2026-07-24T13:08:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-24T13:08:53","slug":"new-renderings-reveal-1-3-billion-enhancements-for-bank-of-america-stadium-in-charlotte-as-naming-rights-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/raleighmovingnews.com\/?p=6931","title":{"rendered":"New renderings reveal $1.3 billion enhancements for Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte as naming rights extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>CHARLOTTE (<strong>CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE<\/strong>) \u2014 The renovations to Bank of America Stadium may bring more than just games and concerts.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/raleighmovingnews.com\/?p=6928\">Panthers linebacker Nic Scourton out for year after tearing ACL on first day of training camp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tepper Sports &amp; Entertainment has released new detailed renderings Thursday of the $1.3 billion renovation of Bank of America Stadium, which city leaders believe will boost Charlotte\u2019s economy and transform the venue into a year-round destination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a game-changer for the facility itself,\u201d Charlotte City Councilman Malcolm Graham said.<\/p>\n<p>The renderings showcase a wide range of upgrades planned for the longtime home of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Larger end-zone scoreboards<\/li>\n<li>Upgraded seating areas<\/li>\n<li>Expanded food and beverage options<\/li>\n<li>Increased restroom capacity<\/li>\n<li>New premium experiences throughout the stadium.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further, the TSE announced a long-term extension to the naming rights of the Panthers\u2019 and Charlotte FC\u2019s home\u2014keeping it Bank of America Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Owner David Tepper hopes the renovations will keep the stadium open not just for sports\u2014but for the community year-round.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s one of the great things that a football stadium can do,\u201d said Tepper.\u00a0\u201cYou can add that not just on game day Sundays but integrate yourself in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<div> <div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span>\n\t\t\t\t\tNOW PLAYING\n\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/div> <\/div>\n<p>NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was in town for the big day and was impressed at the city\u2019s growth, saying that Uptown Charlotte \u201cwas built for a draft.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe draft now, it\u2019s close to a million people attending it,\u201d Goodell said. \u201cAnd they\u2019re coming from all over, including internationally. And it\u2019s become a global event that I think would be a terrific thing here in the stadium, and the facility here is wonderful. And it\u2019s certainly Super Bowl quality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the most prominent additions is a new social patio in the 500-level of the stadium, which TSE said will provide sweeping views of uptown, and a new speakeasy club inside the stadium. In June 2024, the Charlotte City Council <strong>approved $650 million in tourism tax revenue<\/strong> for the project, while the remaining costs, totaling more than $600 million, are being covered by Panthers owner David Tepper and his organization.<\/p>\n<p>The release of the renderings came on the same day as the Panthers and Bank of America announced a long-term extension of the stadium\u2019s naming rights agreement, which has been in place since 2004.<\/p>\n<h2>A new experience<\/h2>\n<p>The Panthers are looking to give fans an experience of a lifetime.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLife is measured in moments, not minutes,\u201d said Eric Sudol, TSE\u2019s chief revenue officer. \u201cWe have taken the moments of the last 31 years of Bank of America Stadium and put them into a memory vault.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Team officials showed the $1.3 billion expansion featuring larger indoor-outdoor gathering spaces across all levels\u2014including a 500-level social patio with views of the Charlotte skyline.<\/p>\n<p>The team displayed a moving map showing a curb-to-curb experience of what officials are calling \u201cintentionality\u201d\u2014keeping the fan experience in mind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can see what the new North Gate experience looks like,\u201d Sudol said. \u201cAs we\u2019ve talked about, you can see the technological advancements in this experience center, but here\u2019s an example of this. And now we have a stadium that actually has an LED board sitting at the North Gate, which is really digitized across the board, our ability to switch this from a Panthers game to FC match to a concert and create uniformity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fans will have the opportunity to schedule an appointment to tour personal seat license options to get a feel for what they like.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Graham told QC News he believes the investment demonstrates the franchise\u2019s commitment to Charlotte.
