LEXINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) \u2014 The owners of Shoto\u2019s Japanese Steakhouse and Seafood and the Candy Factory are forced to put their emotions aside and figure out what\u2019s next after a fire ripped through their buildings Tuesday morning.<\/p>

Stephanie Huynh\u2019s family owns Shoto\u2019s Japanese Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Business Owner Shares Grief<\/h2>\n

\u201cSurely it\u2019s not as bad as they say it is, but it was. I got here yesterday around 2 o\u2019clock just to see the complete emptiness of the building,\u201d Huynh said.<\/p>\n

Huynh says the reality of the situation hasn\u2019t fully set in.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing the blue sky through the windows is the biggest thing for me right now. That\u2019s bothering me because that\u2019s not supposed to be there,\u201d Huynh said.<\/p>\n

Huynh says most of her time was spent in the four walls with her family, creating a family legacy and long-term stability for their family.<\/p>

She explains that every paycheck that supports her immediate family comes from their business.<\/p>\n

Mayor Confident Businesses Will be Back<\/h2>\n

Lexington Mayor Jason Hayes says he has no doubt that the two businesses destroyed and two others damaged by smoke and water will be able to bounce back.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the things that is also important about the people that live here in Lexington and the people that run small businesses is that they\u2019re incredibly resilient. They\u2019re committed to having a successful business. They\u2019re committed to being an active part of the community,\u201d Hayes said.<\/p>\n

Huynh says she doesn\u2019t know what will come next, but they are certain that they will rebuild.\u00a0<\/p>
