DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — One person was displaced after nearly 40 firefighters responded to an incident at a Durham apartment complex Sunday night, officials said.

According to the Durham Fire Department, firefighters received a report just after 8 p.m. of a blaze at the Rolling Hills Apartments in the 400 block of East Pilot Street. Upon arriving, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the apartment building.
About 38 firefighters responded to the incident, who were able to bring the blaze under control in less than 10 minutes, according to the department.

Officials said the cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking.
According to the department, no injuries were reported.
One person was displaced by the fire and is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross, according to the department.
