Woman dies in medical emergency after ‘altercation’ at Fayetteville Golden Corral on Skibo Road, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Fayetteville are investigating an “altercation” Thursday afternoon at a Golden Corral on Skibo Road, in a woman died as a result of a medical emergency.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded just after 2:30 p.m. to a call about a reported “physical disturbance” at a Golden Corral on Skibo Road where shots had been fired.

When officers arrived and began their investigation, they said the altercation involved multiple people. Police said they have not confirmed if gunshots were fired.

According to police, a woman unrelated to the initial incident suffered a medical emergency. She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The Golden Corral’s parking lot and building are shut down while investigators continue their work, police said just after 4:30 p.m.
