DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Durham said a deadly shooting — along with other recent shootings — spurred a raid this week with several arrests and nine seized guns, including five stolen firearms.
The operation was “in response to recent shootings and a homicide” in August, according to a Durham Police Department news release.
Officers obtained a search warrant for a home in the 2500 block South Roxboro Street and executed the warrant on Wednesday, police said.
During the raid, officers said they seized cocaine and marijuana, along with guns and “firearm accessories.”
The seizures and arrests “address immediate crime issues, build trust within the community and prevent future criminal activities,” Durham Police Sgt. J. Roberts of the Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit said in the release.

Officers said the following items were found in the raid:
- 14.6 grams of cocaine
- 158.4 grams of marijuana
- drug paraphernalia
- 9 firearms — five of which were stolen
- large amount of ammunition
- various firearm accessories
- $219 in cash
Photos of the seized items indicated that officers discovered an AK-47-style Draco pistol from Romania along with an AR-15 Blackout 300 AAC rifle.

The other firearms in the photos were more traditional handguns, although at least two pistols appeared to have attached optic devices similar to sights with illuminated red aiming points.
“The result [of this enforcement operation] was the removal of a significant number of dangerous firearms and narcotics from this neighborhood,” Roberts added.

The following suspects — all of Durham — were arrested along with various charges listed, according to police:

- Dezarion Cousin, 19. Charges of felony conspiracy, possession of a stolen firearm
- Jayden Crowder, 18. Charges of felony conspiracy, also served with 25 existing arrest warrants
- Nautyca Gore, 26. Charges of felony conspiracy, manufacture cocaine, maintain a dwelling for a controlled substance sale, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm
- Jaquan Gore, 26. Charges of felony conspiracy, manufacture cocaine, maintain a dwelling for controlled substance sale, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine
- Robert Lloyd, 43. Charges of felony conspiracy, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Tomon Parker, 22. Charges of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance
- Anthony Rand, 55. Charge of felony conspiracy
- Male juvenile, 17. Juvenile petitions filed on possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, felony conspiracy
“The probable cause developed in this case was the result of investigations into multiple incidents in this area, specifically homicides, aggravated assaults, and weapons violations,” Roberts said in the release.
