A cold front that moved through this weekend has brought in cooler, drier air, setting us up for a mostly sunny and comfortable Labor Day.

Highs will climb into the mid-80s Monday, with low humidity making it feel even better. Tuesday and Wednesday will stay mostly dry before temperatures begin to climb again.
By Thursday and Friday, the heat returns with highs approaching the 90s. Fortunately, another front will move through late Friday into Saturday, bringing another shot of cooler air and keeping the hottest temperatures at bay.
There could even be a more noticeable taste of fall toward the middle to end of September as another stronger cold front potentially arrives.
Rain chances will remain limited through the first half of the week, with isolated showers and thunderstorms becoming possible later in the week. Overall, the forecast looks more manageable than the extreme heat we’ve dealt with recently, but we’re not quite ready to put summer away just yet.
One other notable development: the Atlantic is unusually quiet for this time of year. There are no tropical systems or areas of concern expected over the next seven days, which is a rare occurrence this close to the climatological peak of hurricane season.
Enjoy the quiet while it lasts because historically, we don’t often get a stretch this calm in early September.

OVERNIGHT will turn mostly clear and cooler. The low will be 65. Winds will be out of the east at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
TUESDAY will be mostly sunny and pleasant. The high will be 86. Winds will be light out of the east at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
