CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — Eight schools in the Wake County Public School System will see changes to their calendars, district officials said Wednesday.

According to district officials, the Board of Education approved having these schools operate on only a Track 4 schedule, meaning they will follow a calendar with four nine-week quarters followed by a three-week break:
- Heritage Elementary School in Wake Forest
- Heritage Middle School in Wake Forest
- Holly Grove Elementary School in Holly Springs
- Holly Grove Middle School in Holly Springs
- Holly Springs Elementary School in Holly Springs
- Pleasant Grove Elementary School in Morrisville
- Rex Road Elementary School in Holly Springs
- Sycamore Creek Elementary School in Raleigh
Each school, except for Sycamore Creek, will implement the new calendar during the 2027-28 school year, according to district officials.

District officials said the new calendar at Sycamore Creek will be implemented during the 2028-29 school year.
