Periods of rain for central NC continuing through weekend, into Memorial Day Monday

Some places in central North Carolina have picked up more rain over the last 24 hours than they received the entire month of April. And the rain is far from over.

Overnight into Sunday will feature mostly cloudy skies and a few passing showers. The low will be in the middle 60s.

Sunday continues the unsettled pattern with scattered showers and storms possible through the day, though there will still be plenty of dry time with a warmer high in the lower 80s. 

Memorial Day Monday will see highs back in the middle 80s with periods of rain possible. 

Rain chances and temperatures in the 80s are expected to continue through all of next week. As much as 2 to 3 inches of much-needed rain is possible by the time all is said and done. 

 FORECAST

OVERNIGHT will be mostly cloudy with a few showers possible. The low will be 66. Winds will become calm.

SUNDAY will be mostly cloudy with another round of mainly afternoon showers/storms. The high will be 83. Winds will be 5 miles per hour out of the south. 

MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. The high will be 86. Winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour out of the southwest.
