The Canes (53-23-7) and Montreal Canadiens (49-24-10) will square off in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final Saturday night at the Lenovo Center. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m.
Seth Jarvis scored the first goal for Carolina less than a minute in Game 1, but the Canadiens scored four in quick succession and were up 4-1 by the end of the first period. Though the Canes found the back of the net again in the second period on an Eric Robinson goal, Game 1 belonged to the visitors, with Montreal eventually winning 6-2.

Prior to Thursday night, the Hurricanes had not lost a postseason game in 2026, while the Habs needed Game 7s in both their previous series. The Canes now find themselves behind in a series for the first time in these playoffs.
