Witness at The Domain apartments, located on Dansey Drive between Louisburg Road and New Hope Road in northeast Raleigh, say the shooting happened right in front of building 4713 among pine trees and in broad daylight on an otherwise quiet Sunday morning.

The alleged shooter and the teen are seen in door cam video around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

At first things seem relatively calm.

Then, the person in a blue hoodie tosses something onto the ground, while the person in black appears to talk on his phone.

Next, both are on their phones as the teen on the left moves toward the other person.

In the video, you can’t hear what they’re saying or make out their faces.

“They had masks on,” an anonymous witness said.

But you can clearly hear the gunshot after the person in blue appears to lunge at the person in black.

An anonymous witness describes what he saw.

“I seen the guy pull out, the guy who got shot rushed after the guy, the shooter, because I guess he’s seen the gun, and then I heard the shot.“

That anonymous witness watches from a security camera.

“I seen on the camera, the kid in a blue hoodie, the one who got shot, rushed after the person that shot him right over in the pine needles, right in the parking lot. And about five minutes later, heard him yelling for someone to call 911.”

Raleigh police say the 16-year-old, wearing the blue hoodie was shot in the arm, a bullet grazed his chest, and he went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A CBS 17 crew shot video of the crime scene as investigators marked apparent evidence, confiscating bloody clothing — including the blue hoodie.

“The shooter ran off,” an anonymous witness said.

Raleigh police is actively looking for the suspect believed to be either an “older teenager” or a man in his 20s.

It’s unclear if either person lives in the complex.

An eyewitnesses describes both as acting strangely before the gunfire.

“So, I just seen a quick glimpse at, like 10:32, then I’m walking, looking somewhere over there. My camera didn’t get a glimpse of exactly what they were looking, but then walking back, then coming back over, so they were probably scoping something out, but I don’t know,” the witness said.
