Another round of showers are possible Thursday as a cold front slides through central North Carolina, taking away our hot, humid weather and replacing it with more comfortable, seasonal weather.

But Thursday is still going to be a very warm and slightly uncomfortable day with highs still reaching the upper 80s. By the afternoon, the cold front arrives from the north, bringing the chance for a few showers, before northerly winds bring down the more pleasant weather. Expect highs a few degrees below normal Friday and through the weekend. A stray shower is possible Saturday, but we expect the weekend to be mainly dry with high temperatures reaching the 70s.
June begins with a low-pressure system riding up the coast, bringing a chance for rain before we dry out the rest of the week. Temperatures will likely stay cooler than normal to start June in the 70s and low 80s.

OVERNIGHT will be partly cloudy. The low will be 69. Winds will be 5 miles per hour out of the southwest.
THURSDAY will be partly cloudy with a few scattered afternoon showers and storms. The high will be 88. Winds will be 5 miles per hour out of the west, turning to the north by the afternoon.
