RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A girl was taken to a Raleigh-area hospital after she was hit by a car in northeast Raleigh Saturday night, police said.

The crash was reported just after 9:15 p.m. along Buffaloe Road near the intersection with Forestville Road, just east of Interstate 540, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
The crash happened when four juveniles “ran across the road in the dark,” and one was hit by a vehicle, police said.
The victim, whose exact age was not known late Saturday, was taken to a nearby hospital after she suffered injuries that do not appear life-threatening, police said.

The driver of the car that hit the juvenile female remained at the scene after the crash, officers said.

Map data indicated traffic back-ups approaching the intersection on Buffaloe Road and Forestville Road.
During a preliminary investigation, police said the driver did not appear to have impairment issues.
