Man in wheelchair dies after being hit by vehicle on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man in a wheelchair died after being struck by a vehicle on Glenwood Avenue early Thursday morning, police said.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded around 2:44 a.m. to the 7200 block of Glenwood Avenue after receiving a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

Police initially reported that the man suffered serious injuries. Authorities later confirmed he died as a result of the crash.

The driver remained at the scene, and no charges have been filed at this time, police said.

Inbound lanes of Glenwood Avenue were closed Thursday morning as officers investigated the fatal collision.
