Hot, rain-free weather continues into the weekend for central NC

It’s heating up across central North Carolina. While not breaking any records, highs will climb quickly into the mid-90s Friday and through the weekend, well above our normal June high of 85 degrees. The humidity will slowly increase, but should overall stay comfortable through the weekend. Sunday will be a touch muggy, making an already hot day feel a little more uncomfortable.

A cold front Sunday night into Monday will bring the first chance at rain since the holiday weekend, but unfortunately, it won’t add up to much, with only scattered rain expected early Monday. It will bring a slight drop in temperatures early next week before another round of hot weather arrives for next weekend.

Overall, the long-term weather outlook is mostly dry and very warm. We are now in meteorological summer, and it’s going to feel like it.
