KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WNCN) — The Knightdale Fire Department has made two leadership promotions, town officials said Wednesday.

William Boggs, a 32-year veteran firefighter who has served as Knightdale’s battalion chief since 2020, was named assistant fire chief, according to Town of Knightdale officials.

According to town officials, Boggs will oversee the department’s administrative and support services functions.
Town officials said Capt. Mark Guy, a 20-year veteran firefighter who has been a member of the Knightdale Firefighter since 2013, was named battalion chief.

Guy will be the B Shift battalion chief and be responsible for overseeing shift operations, according to town officials.
“These promotions reflect the strength of our organization and the caliber of leaders who serve our department and community,” Knightdale Mayor Jessica Day said in a statement. “Both Chief Boggs and Chief Guy have earned the respect of their peers through years of dedicated service, continuous professional development, and unwavering commitment to our mission.”
