DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Officers in Durham are investigating the circumstances around a shooting that left a girl hospitalized early Monday morning, police said.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded to the call of an aggravated assault around 12:50 a.m. Monday on the 1100 block of Hoover Road. Officers said they ended up finding a female juvenile shot.
Officers said in a news release that she was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care. According to officers on Monday morning, the girl is currently listed in serious but stable condition.
