DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham man was killed late Monday night after police said he was struck by a vehicle while lying in the roadway.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded around 10:39 p.m. to a crash on North Miami Boulevard near Braxton Street.
Investigators said a black 2025 Honda Accord was traveling northwest on North Miami Boulevard when it struck 39-year-old Armonte Donovan Self of Durham.

A preliminary investigation indicates Self was lying in the roadway before the collision, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
