Motorcyclist killed in crash with GoTriangle bus in Durham, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a GoTriangle bus late Monday night in Durham, police said.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded around 11:44 p.m. to a crash near Coach K Highway (N.C. Highway 751) and Erwin Road.

Investigators said the operator was riding a 2026 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle westbound on Coach K Highway when he struck the right side of a GoTriangle bus that was turning left onto northbound Erwin Road.

The motorcyclist, whom officers identified as Henry Winch, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash.

Police said they urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about it to contact Investigator B.K. Gardner at (919) 560-4575, ext. 29166.
