After OU (42-23) won the first game and UNC (54-13-1) won the second, the two teams will now battle for the national championship Monday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. First pitch will be thrown shortly after 7 p.m. ET. The Tar Heels will send lefty Jackson Rose to the mound first, while right-handed pitcher Nick Wesloski will start for the Sooners.
With their backs against the wall Sunday, UNC needed to win to keep their title hopes alive. Oklahoma struck early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. But, much like the Tar Heels the day before, that would be all they would get the rest of the game.

Carolina tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the third inning on a triple from Jake Schaffner, who then came around to score not long after on a wild pitch to give the Tar Heels the lead. UNC then added insurance runs on a solo home run from Owen Hull in the fifth inning and a two-run shot from Cooper Nicholson in the seventh. The Tar Heels ended up with a 6-2 win.
If UNC wins, it will be their first national title in baseball. If Oklahoma wins, it will be their third baseball championship overall and first since 1994.
