Brind’Amour, who has been eligible for induction since 2013, remains on the outside looking in.

Rod Brind’Amour compiled an impressive résumé as a player and as a coach that includes two Stanley Cup championships, more than 1,400 games played, two Selke Trophies as the league’s top defensive forward, 452 goals and 732 assists. He is the cornerstone of the Carolina Hurricanes franchise.

Despite those accomplishments, Hall of Fame recognition continues to elude the former captain.

Brind’Amour’s impact on the game has only grown since his playing days ended. As head coach of the Hurricanes, he has helped transform Carolina into one of the NHL’s most consistent contenders, adding another chapter to an already distinguished hockey career.

For many in the hockey world, the question remains unchanged: What more does Rod Brind’Amour have to do to earn a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame?

The latest inductees included long time executive Brian Burke, Patrice Bergeron, Cindy Curley, Carey Price, Pekka Rinne, and Keith Tkachuk.
