CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person has been rushed to the hospital after a two-alarm fire burned several apartments, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Just before 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, Charlotte Fire said its crews were responding to a large fire in the 6000 block of Delta Crossing Lane. This is at an apartment complex off East W.T. Harris Boulevard.
Firefighters arrived to see heavy fire, and a second alarm was called, bringing additional crews to help.
It took 60 firefighters 51 minutes to control the blaze. Firefighters rescued two people and one pet from the building.

Officials say one person received medical care at the scene, and another person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
East W.T. Harris Boulevard was closed between Albermarle Road and North Sharon Amity Road during the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. In total, eight apartments were damaged.
