East Durham driver’s license office temporarily closed because of bed bugs, NCDOT says

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Bed bugs have temporarily closed a driver’s license office in Durham, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

According to NDOT, the East Durham driver’s license office at 101 S. Miami Blvd closed after a customer brought in bed bugs.

NCDOT said the closure is needed to pest control and maintenance, and the department took “action to remediate as soon as possible.”

The office is expected to reopen on July 13, NCDOT said.

People with appointments are being contacted and offered a chance to reschedule, according to NCDOT. Examiners working at the office are being reassigned to other nearby offices.

While the South Miami Boulevard is closed, the NCDOT said the following offices are available for services:

  • Durham, 3825 S. Roxboro St., Suite 119
  • Carrboro, 100 N.C. Hwy. 54, Suite 104JJ
  • Hillsborough, 1201 U.S. Hwy. 70 West
