DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — More than 25,000 Duke Energy customers in the Durham County area are without power early Wednesday morning, the company said.

A map from Duke Energy shows multiple outages throughout Durham County, spanning from just north of Proctor Street to O’Kelley Chapel Road in the south and east to west from the intersection of East Lawson Street and South Alston Avenue to Old Chapel Road.
Outages have also been reported nearby in Orange County as far north as Springdale Way to just south of Kennebec Drive and from Stagecoach Road in the east to Pinehurst Drive in the west, according to Duke Energy.

According to Duke Energy, the outages were reported between just after 2:30 a.m. to just before 3 a.m.

A cause of the outage has not been determined as of 4:10 a.m.
The company says power is expected to be restored between 5:15 a.m. and 5:45 a.m.
