According to City of Creedmoor officials, all emergency calls for Creedmoor police will be answered by the Granville County 911 Communications Center. No action is required from the public.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the Creedmoor Police Department and support their officers and citizens,” Granville County 911 Director Stacy Hicks said in a statement. “I appreciate Chief Wheless’ trust in our team as we have worked closely together to make sure this transition is seamless for the officers, 911 staff, and the community.”

The transition was the result of months of planning and collaboration between the city, the county, Creedmoor police, and the county 911 center, according to officials.

Officials said transferring dispatch services to the county will increase the efficiency of operations, improves public safety agency coordination, and provides access to advanced communication technology and more staffing resources.

“Over the past several months, Director Stacy Hicks, the Granville County 911 staff, and members of our police department have worked tirelessly to ensure that all our operational needs are met,” he continued in his statement. “I am confident this transition will enhance emergency response capabilities for residents, businesses, and visitors.”
