Another round of afternoon and evening storms on Wednesday in central North Carolina could involve severe thunderstorm warnings. Damaging wind and isolated flooding have been the main problems so far this week, and they will again be possible Wednesday with daytime heating and high humidity.

Central North Carolina is again under a level 1 marginal risk for severe weather for the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. Damaging wind gusts are the most likely threat in addition to heavy rain and lightning, as highs in the mid- to lower 90s will again help storms develop and become strong quickly.
While we have chances for rain nearly every day in the forecast, no day is expected to be a washout. Thursday and Friday will see lower chances of rain, with highs climbing into the mid-90s.
This weekend will stay hot, but a weak cold front approaching will again give us a better chance of rain both days. Highs Saturday will still be in the mid-90s, but Sunday may only top out in the upper 80s thanks to the front.
Next week is looking mostly dry with highs staying in the 90s.
