Coolest afternoon in weeks on the way for Monday in central NC

We’ve seen six highs of 100+ since the last time we were as cool as we’ll be Monday afternoon. Highs are expected to climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s, around 10 degrees or more below average. Not bad for July.

There will be a few scattered showers around, but it won’t be the coverage or intensity areas saw on Sunday. Isolated showers and possible Tuesday with highs in the upper 80s before the pattern turns drier and hotter again.

Wednesday will feature a return to the middle 90s with upper 90s on Thursday.

90s continue through the weekend and the start of next week, but should slowly back off to the lower 90s by next week.

Scattered shower and storm chances return towards the end of the week and through the weekend. But it won’t be a washout on any given day.
