TARBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — One juvenile was injured after a fight involving a large group of young people at a park in Edgecombe County on Sunday, police said.

According to the Tarboro Police Department, officers responded to Braswell Park after a gathering of juveniles escalated into a physical altercation.
During the fight, one juvenile suffered lacerations and was treated for their injuries, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to identify everyone involved.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the fight or has photos, videos or other information to contact the Tarboro Police Department at 252-641-4247. Tips may also be submitted anonymously.

Authorities also urged parents and guardians to talk with their children about the dangers of attending or organizing so-called “Teen Takeover” events.
“These events can quickly escalate into violence, placing participants and bystanders at risk of serious injury and potential criminal charges,” the Tarboro Police Department said in a social media post on Monday.
Police said they appreciate the community’s cooperation as investigators work to determine what happened and hold those responsible accountable.
