RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Storms are rolling through central North Carolina Monday afternoon, and multiple counties have been placed under different warnings by the National Weather Service throughout the day.

Currently, severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for much of Wake County and and northern Johnston County. Locations in the impacted area include Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Zebulon, Wendell and Clayton among others.
According to NWS Raleigh, 60 mile per hour wind gusts is the main threat with this alert. The severe thunderstorm warning for most of Wake County is expected to be in effect until 5 p.m., and the one including Johnston County is set to expire at 5:30 p.m.
