DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — As summer comes to an end, a local nonprofit in Durham is preparing for its upcoming #Project300 sneaker giveaway, organized by Ron N Shoot (RNS) Sports, Inc.

This organization is dedicated to supporting underprivileged youth, and the event is scheduled for Aug. 16.
The goal is to provide 300 pairs of brand-new sneakers to children in need, just in time for the new school year.
Launched in June 2019, #Project300 addresses critical issues related to self-esteem and confidence among youth, factors that significantly impact their focus and behavior in the classroom. By gifting new sneakers, RNS Sports aims to instill a sense of pride and readiness as children head back to school.

From July to August, the organization has been diligently collecting donations to achieve their goal of 300 pairs.
On the event day, families from the Durham area will have the opportunity to bring their children to a secret location and “shop” for new shoes at no cost.
