At 1:38 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1200 block of East 29th Street, where a juvenile was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
It was originally reported that the involved parties got into a physical altercation and the suspect produced a firearm that struck the juvenile during the struggle.
On Saturday, the WSPD said that through interviews with witnesses and those involved, they were able to determine that two family members were “play fighting” when Davonte Lewis, 20, of High Point, produced a gun, which unintentionally discharged and struck the 14-year-old.
